We gather together throughout the week to worship, learn, and serve as followers of Jesus Christ. Our worship services are centered around Word and Sacrament. Our educational programs and small group opportunities are designed to help us grow in our faith and deepen our relationships with one another. We believe that we are called to love and serve our neighbors, both near and far. Through our outreach and service programs, we seek to make a positive impact in our local community and the wider world. St. John's was founded in 1974 by a small group of families in Pittsburg, California. The original church building was located on Bethel Street, but as the congregation grew, a larger building was needed. In 1994, the current church building on Acorn Lane was constructed and has since undergone several renovations and expansions to accommodate the growing congregation. Over the years, St. John's has been an active and vital part of the community, providing worship, education, and service opportunities for people of all ages. Today, we continue to serve as a beacon of hope and love in East Bay, welcoming all people to join us in our journey of faith.

Preschool

Little Lights Preschool offers a high-quality preschool program for children ages 3-5 in a nurturing and supportive Christian environment. Our experienced and dedicated teachers create a learning atmosphere that fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. We believe that children learn best through play and exploration, so our curriculum is designed to be hands-on and engaging. We also incorporate Christian values and teachings into our daily activities and encourage children to grow in their faith. Our preschool program is licensed and offers flexible scheduling options to meet the needs of busy families. We look forward to serving your family.

Food Pantry

We are committed to serving our local community through our food pantry ministry. Our pantry provides nutritious food and essential household items to families and individuals in need. We partner with local organizations and businesses to collect donations and keep our pantry stocked with a variety of items. The pantry is weekly on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, and is located in the east wing of our church campus. Our volunteers are available to assist with food selection and answer any questions. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, we invite you to visit our food pantry.
